Security services in the Egyptian governorate of Giza seized a quantity of drugs inside a governmental ambulance in the Haram area, where the paramedic and the driver were arrested.
The incident took place after the General Directorate of Anti-Narcotics Investigations monitored the distribution of narcotic substances and tablets to addicts within the Giza governorate, and the investigations found that a “paramedic” was behind the sale.
Following thorough investigations, the Drug Enforcement Administration prepared a plan to follow up on the paramedic and set an ambush to arrest him after taking the necessary legal measures, where the car was stopped, searched, then a paramedic and a driver were arrested in it, and a quantity of drugs was confiscated inside the car.
The investigations confirmed that the driver was not aware of the paramedic’s involvement in the distribution of drugs, and the accused and seizures were referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the investigations.
Based on the Public Prosecution’s decision, the paramedic was detained for 4 days pending investigations, while the security services continue to investigate to uncover any other people involved in the supply or purchase of drugs.
