The hostage-taking incident at a nightclub in the eastern Netherlands ended on Saturday when police arrested a man wearing a mask as he walked out of the club.
“The last hostage has just been released, one person and his nationality is Eritrean has been arrested, and we cannot provide further information at this time,” a police statement said.
Journalists at the scene said a man walked out of the nightclub and raised his hands in the air before police arrested him and put him in a car belonging to them.
Police said on social media that they had sent several special forces units to the site, a building in the centre of Edeh city, to deal with hostage-taking.
Police have previously said there was no indication that the hostage-taking was carried out with a terrorist motive.
