Egyptian authorities have announced that humanitarian aid will continue to be dropped by air over the besieged Gaza Strip.
According to the military spokesman of the Egyptian armed forces, Colonel Gharib Abdel Hafez, these efforts come within the framework of Egypt’s continued efforts to provide basic supplies through the Rafah land crossing.
The Egyptian air force dropped tens of tonnes of essential food and vital aid in the northern Gaza Strip.
These humanitarian operations were coordinated with all regional and international powers and UN institutions to support the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip.
In a related context, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that Israeli practices towards civilians constitute a violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, Sisi pointed out that Egypt has repeatedly warned of the repercussions of dangerous Israeli plans in the Gaza Strip, stressing the importance of the two-state solution and the implementation of international references to ensure stability in the region.
