In a press statement, Cairo 24 website revealed that Egyptian Minister of Transport Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, issued a decision to dismiss the Managing Director at Railways company for integrated services, security and cleaning works Samy Abdeltawab.
Sources reported that the decision to dismiss Samy Abdeltawab was issued on October 24, 2023 and replaced him with Major General Hatem Ibrahim for a one year term, against the backdrop of a “video complaint” by a number of passengers about the presence of rats inside luxury trains, and poor hygiene.
The dismissal decision issued against the Egyptian official came after a complaint was filed by a passenger because of a number of rats roaming inside the Luxor-Cairo line train, that bears the number 977, which caused panic and dissatisfaction among the passengers, in an incident that was repeated during recent trips.
