Czech police have begun an investigation into the activities of youth groups known as “child sexual predator hunters,” who track and confront predators online in an illegal manner.
These individuals communicate with suspects, exchange pornographic material with them and negotiate personal meetings.
According to the police, these groups confront predators, who may threaten, assault or even blackmail them, and document these confrontations on video and post them on social media.
Police spokesman Jakub Vincalík said the Czech police are working in coordination with “Europol” to monitor these activities, which have been recurring across Europe.
Vincalík added that the investigation covers a range of crimes, including theft and assault, that may be linked to the activities of these groups.
