Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has come under fire for his “outrageous mockery” following Al Nasr’s 3-2 win over Al Shabab in a Saudi Professional League match.
Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot in the first half, but Brazilian Talisca scored two late goals, including a killer in the final minutes, to give victory the victory.
Following the final whistle, videos emerged showing Ronaldo making an inappropriate taunting move, appearing to target the youth fans.
In the background, chants of “Messi” were heard, a reference to the Argentine star who was a longtime rival to Ronaldo.
Although the incident was not clearly monitored by cameras, the 39-year-old Portuguese star quickly poured in criticism.
According to local media reports, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has launched an investigation into the incident.
Ronaldo, who joined Al Nasr in December 2022, has scored 22 goals in the Saudi league this season, and at the moment, Al Nasr is 4 points behind Al Hilal, but has an extra game.
Al Nasr are also competing for the AFC Champions League title and will face Al Ain in the quarter-finals next month.
