The third jersey launched by “Adidas” for Manchester United for the 2024-2025 season has sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms due to the presence of the colors of the Egyptian flag.
The jersey combines red, white, and black, and has sparked speculation among fans and sports followers about its resemblance to the flags of some Arab countries.
“Adidas” revealed this design as part of a new collection for five major clubs, including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Juventus, and Manchester United, with football legends such as Rio Ferdinand and Bastian Schweinsteiger participating in the promotional campaign.
The jersey features the classic “Adidas” logo alongside Manchester United’s distinctive “Red Devils” logo, replacing the club’s traditional logo.
The debate surrounding the jersey centered around the tricolor flag that appeared on its chest, which some linked to the Egyptian flag, while others saw a resemblance to the Syrian or Iraqi flags.
For its part, Manchester United explained that the tricolor flag is a traditional symbol used by the club’s fans for decades and aims to unite the team’s fans around the world, emphasizing the strong ties that unite the club and its global fans.
