Israeli media said Chinese warships deployed in the Red Sea refused to help Israeli cargo ships in the Bab al-Mandab.

Israeli media quoted the Associated Press as saying that although China has warships in the region, these ships have not responded to previous calls for help from merchant ships, although some of the ships attacked had links to Hong Kong.

Two months ago, the Chinese military reportedly deployed six warships to the Middle East as tensions in the region escalated over the war on Gaza.

The six warships, which include a guided missile destroyer, a frigate, and an integrated supply ship, were part of China’s forty-fourth Naval Task Force, which recently participated in a joint military exercise with Oman.

It is noteworthy that a few days ago, Israeli sources reported that the large shipping company “OCCL”, which is headquartered in Hong Kong, will stop dealing with Israeli goods of all types and to all destinations, whether by import or export.

The company justified this by saying that it was “due to operational issues, so OCCL will stop receiving goods to and from Israel, immediately, until further notice.”

This comes as the Houthis confirm that ships of all nationalities heading to Israeli ports will continue to be prevented from navigating in the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea, until the blockade on Gaza is lifted and the food and medicine needed by its people are brought in.
