Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr, acted unsportsmanlike after the end of his team’s match against Al Hilal in the final of the Riyadh Season Cup, causing a stir in Saudi Arabia.
Hilal was crowned champion of the Riyadh Season Football Cup, after defeating Al-Nasr with two clean goals, in the match that brought them together at the Kingdom Arena.
Ronaldo failed to control the anger that gripped him and could not control his actions after the loss, especially after being subjected to hostile chants by Al-Hilal fans.
The cameras monitored behavior described by the fans as shameful and bad, when Ronaldo went to the dressing room after the end of the match, where a fan Hilali threw the scarf of Al-Hilal towards the Portuguese star, to pick it up and put it in his “pants” before throwing it.
Al-Hilal’s management called on the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation to investigate the incident, examine the videos, and impose a penalty on the Portuguese in the event of proven misconduct towards Al-Hilal fans.
Ronaldo’s behavior caused a wide uproar in Saudi Arabia, especially by Al-Hilal fans, who demanded the harshest penalties for the “Don” and demands for his deportation.
