The Libyan National Security Advisor, Ibrahim Bouchnaf, discussed with the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Khoury, ways to move the political process forward.
During the meeting, which was held in the city of Benghazi, the two parties discussed efforts to strengthen the political process by creating favorable conditions for holding free and fair elections, the results of which are acceptable to all parties.
The two parties stressed the importance of building consensus among all concerned parties to move forward towards elections that meet the aspirations of Libyans to choose their leadership and renew the legitimacy of their institutions.
Bushnaf presented the Libyan National Security Council’s vision for the solution in Libya, stressing the Council’s commitment to providing all support for the success of the UN mission’s work.
For her part, Khoury affirmed the United Nations mission’s commitment to working with all Libyans to achieve sustainable stability and unify national institutions, stressing the importance of national ownership of the political process sponsored by the United Nations and supported by the international community in a coordinated manner.
The increase in consular service fees raises concerns among the Moroccan community in Libya
