The Russian president’s special envoy for the Middle East and North Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, confirmed that Moscow supports holding elections and forming a single government in Libya.
Bogdanov said in press statements that the elections represent a good solution to the situation in Libya, stressing that his country supports the holding of comprehensive national presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya, with the participation of all political forces.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation responded to what was reported by US media about Moscow’s formation of the so-called African Legion in the African continent, stressing that these reports contradict reality.
The Russian envoy pointed out that the existence of such a force requires military agreements, which need to be ratified by parliamentary bodies in Russia and African countries, which did not happen.
