US President Joe Biden accused Iran-backed militant movements of being behind the suicide attack on a US army base in Jordan in a statement posted on the White House website.
“Although we are still gathering the facts about this attack, we know that extremist armed groups operating in Syria and Iraq that rely on Iran’s support carried out this attack,” Biden said.
A suicide march targeted a US military base in northeastern Jordan on the evening of January 27, killing three US soldiers.
