US President Joe Biden played down concerns about his advanced age in a television interview with NBC’s humorous show, hoping to appeal to undecided voters ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
While hosting “Let Night with Seth Myers,” Biden, 81, expressed confidence that he is a better choice than former US President Donald Trump, 77, who is expected to compete with him in the upcoming presidential election.
Asked about voters’ concern about his age, Biden laughed and said, “You should look at the other guy, Trump is about my age, but he can’t remember his wife’s name.”
The reference was part of his response to clips on the show that showed Trump referring to his wife Melania by the wrong name.
Moreover, Biden accused his potential rival of trying to turn the United States back, asserting that it was about the depth of ideas, and pointing to Republican efforts to change abortion laws in the name of the “Roe v. Wade Act.”
