“Sport” the Spanish daily sports newspaper revealed that FC Barcelona decided to repurchase Moroccan player Chadi Riad and sell defenders to help their financial situation.
Barcelona made the decision to activate the €7 million buy-back clause and will bring back 20-year-old center-back Chadi Riad from Real Betis next summer and they are willing to sell Andreas Christensen or Jules Kounde.
“Sport” mentioned that Riyad and his club officials were informed of the decision, that aligns with Barcelona’s strategy of building a robust squad for the future.
adding that all indications point to the return of the 20-year-old player to Barcelona, “unless there is a major obstacle.”
Riad has impressed with his physical skills as well as his ability to play from the back, and the Catalans are keen to have the youngster back as part of the first team next season.
