Barcelona players have been ‘banned’ from showering at their home stadium and training centre for the foreseeable future.
The repercussions have extended to Barcelona’s main squad, as Xavi’s team has been instructed not to use the showers at their stadium or training facilities in order to conserve water.
The Minister of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda, David Mascort, has cautioned Barcelona that if they persist in utilising water at the current rate, they will be required to ‘compensate’ for that usage, and players are advised to shower at home.
