Britain’s high-tech combat ship HMS Guiding Fold collided with the other naval mine search vessel, HMS Bangor, while docking in a port in Bahrain.

According to the British newspaper “Mirror”, none of their crew members were injured in this “embarrassing” maritime collision, and the ships are under examination for damage.

A high-level maritime investigation into the accident has been launched amid many questions about how such an accident involving two sensitive vessels of this type occurred.

A spokesman for the Royal Navy said: “We are aware of an incident involving two minecraft warships in the State of Bahrain, and there have been no casualties as a result of this incident,” adding that it was not appropriate to comment further while investigations were ongoing.

The Mirror reported that the ships are in the Gulf as part of Operation Kipion, Britain’s long-standing air and naval presence in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.
