A mysterious “flying saucer” spotted over New York has puzzled experts, prompting US authorities to open an urgent investigation into the incident.
The incident was documented by Michelle Reyes, who was on a flight over La Guardia Airport, where she took a video of the flying saucer from her seat window and emailed it to the FAA.
Reyes told News Nation: “The first thing I did was send an email to the FAA to let them know what I saw, it might have been a safety risk, but unfortunately I didn’t get a response from them.”
According to an official at the Federal Aviation Administration, they “have no reports” from pilots about the mysterious incident, the New York Post reported.
Thomas Wertman, director of the Ohio Mutual UFO Network, reviewed the footage and noted that the object was moving at an altitude of about 2,500 feet and was “relatively close” to the plane as it prepared to land.
Wertman said the object’s height, shape and location near a major commercial flight path made it unlikely to be a helicopter, drone, or military aircraft.
The Federal Aviation Administration has assigned a specialized team to research and investigate the incident, where facts are evaluated, and information is collected to further understand the incident.
