The Internal Security Agency in the Eastern Province arrested Nermine al-Drissi, head of the Libyan Trade Union Federation, on charges of communicating with foreign entities, according to local reports.
The Libya Press platform, citing informed sources, reported that Al-Sharif was detained and imprisoned, with all her documents confiscated from passports and identity cards.
The sources explained that the Darsa tribe tried to intervene to release her, but she was allowed to be temporarily released daily at six in the evening, with the condition of returning before seven in the morning of the next day.
Nermine al-Sharif was questioned on April 3 on charges of dealing with the German-Jewish organization Heurdach, which she was accused of providing support for.
Cherif witnessed her involvement in smuggling weapons and ammunition from Tunisia to Libya during the Libyan events that erupted in 2011, with the aim of toppling the regime.
Al-Sharif became famous after taking a photo with the body of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi in the city of Misrata, where she was raising the victory sign, making her a controversial figure in the Libyan arena.
These events remain under follow-up to determine the veracity of the charges against Nermin al-Sharif and their impact on the political and security situation in Libya.
