Liverpool FC announced the appointment of Dutchman Arne Slot as the team’s new technical director, replacing German Jürgen Klopp, whose tenure ended at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
A statement issued by the club’s official website quoted that Sloot will start his duties on the first of June 2024, after obtaining the necessary permit to work.
The 45-year-old Sloot comes to Liverpool from Dutch club Feyenoord, where he led the team to three successful seasons, during which he won the Eredivisie title in 2023 and was named Eredivisie Coach of the Year twice.
Slot has contributed to tangible success in domestic competitions, leading Feyenoord to the Dutch Cup in April by beating Nijmegen with a clean goal in the final.
It is noteworthy that the Dutchman Arne Slot was a player with “BEC Zvolle”, “Sparta Rotterdam and Nac Breda”, and began his coaching career with the Dutch team Feyenoord and led them to the final of the Europa Conference League in the 2021/2022 season.
Slot is known for his high-pressing coaching style and building the ball from the back and has an outstanding track record of developing young talent during his time at Feyenoord.
