Arab teams are preparing to participate in the Summer Olympics in Paris, as Moroccan star Achraf Hakimi is on the list, while prominent names such as Mohamed Salah and Zidane Iqbal are absent.
As the start of the Olympics competitions in Paris approaches, the Arab teams: Morocco, Egypt, and Iraq – are making their final preparations.
Egypt and Morocco submitted their final lists, but without Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. On the other hand, Morocco’s list is topped by Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, who is considered one of three players over the age of 23 allowed to participate.
On the other hand, the Iraqi Federation was unable to attract Zidane Iqbal, the Utrecht star and former Manchester United player, despite multiple attempts.
Morocco also announced a list of 22 players, including goalkeeper Mounir El Kajoui and striker Sofiane Rahimi, in a move aimed at enhancing its offensive capabilities.
It is noteworthy that Egypt included players such as Mohamed Elneny and Ahmed Sayed in its list, in an attempt to provide the best possible performance in the tournament, while Iraq is still looking to determine its final list.
Football competitions at the Olympic Games begin on July 24, two days before the opening ceremonies, with the final match taking place on August 9 at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, and the current Olympic Games slogan is “Light up the Games.”
It is noteworthy that Brazil won the championship title in the last two editions.
This is the third time that Paris has hosted the Olympic Games, after 1900 and 1924. France also hosted three Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix in 1924, Grenoble in 1968, and Albertville in 1992.
