Media sources said that UN Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan Ramtane Lamamra will meet Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, in Port Sudan.
As part of his visit, the UN envoy met with a number of officials and political and civil figures to listen to their opinions and proposals about the current situation.
Diplomatic sources reported that Lamamra seeks ending the war in Sudan and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the country with Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and a number of officials, including the Foreign Minister-designate, Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq
The sources indicated that the visit focuses on the United Nations efforts to improve the humanitarian conditions in Sudan.
