The press conference announcing the details of the 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair kicked off on Sunday.

The conference began with the recitation of the national anthem, where it was attended by many prominent personalities, including the Minister of Culture, Nevine Kilani, the President of the General Book Authority, Ahmed Bahey El-Din, and the Ambassador of Norway in Cairo, Hilda Klimitsdale, was also present, along with the President of the Arab Publishers Union, Mohamed Rashad, and the President of the Egyptian Publishers Union, Said Abdo.

The conference comes to reveal the most prominent aspects of the 55th edition, as it includes a presentation of the number of participating countries, and the most important cultural and artistic events and activities that will vary during the exhibition this year.

The exhibition will be organized at the Egypt Center for International Exhibitions and Conferences in the Fifth Settlement, from January 25, 2024, to February 6, 2024, under the slogan “We create knowledge, we preserve the word”, and the State of Norway is honored as a guest of honor in this session.

This year’s figure for the fair, Egyptologist Dr. Salim Hassan was chosen, while the pioneer of children’s literature, Yacoub Sharoni, is the personality of the Children’s Book Fair.
