The government mandated by the Libyan House of Representatives announced granting an official holiday to all public bodies next Monday and Tuesday in light of expectations of the arrival of a desert depression.
Within the framework of this announcement, Prime Minister-designate Osama Hammad issued Decree No. 48 of 2024, where the decision came to consider next Monday and Tuesday as an emergency holiday for all ministries and public authorities, due to the expected bad weather conditions.
The decision excluded from the holiday workers in health facilities, security authorities and all those whose nature of work requires facing the repercussions of bad weather conditions, while preserving the rights of workers in those bodies to obtain compensation for work these days in accordance with the law.
The Minister of Interior has been tasked with issuing the necessary instructions and directives to limit movement on coastal and secondary roads in areas where visibility is expected due to bad weather conditions.
For its part, the National Center of Meteorology expected that most regions of Libya will be affected by weather fluctuations as a result of a desert depression, as the winds will be southeasterly active to strong in speed on Monday.
