Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vladimir Badalko, and President of the General Federation of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Al-Raid, signed an important agreement in Moscow aimed at strengthening cooperation between companies and investors in the two countries.
The agreement stipulates the exchange of economic and commercial information of common interest, which will enable the two parties to exchange knowledge about the markets and available investment opportunities.
The agreement includes providing support in organizing economic forums, conferences and meetings, which contributes to enhancing direct communication between businessmen and investors from the two countries.
Among the main points of the agreement is holding periodic meetings to review the progress of cooperation and solve any problems that may hinder the achievement of common goals. The agreement also aims to consider current and future issues of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Libya.
During the International Economic Forum “Russia – the Islamic World,” which was held in the Russian city of Kazan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Libyan interim government, Abdul Hadi Al-Hawaij, stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with Russia in various fields.
For his part, Russia’s ambassador to Libya, Haider Aghanin, expressed his country’s respect for the sovereignty of peoples and the importance of the Libyan people determining their fate and interests without foreign interference.
Aghanin expressed his regret for the current political situation in Libya, stressing that Russia’s historical relations with Libya make the current situation painful for Moscow.
This agreement comes at a critical time as Russia and Libya seek to strengthen their economic ties and overcome the challenges they face in light of the current political conditions.
