Africa Initiative activists organized a cultural lesson on Russian-Libyan friendship at the First Step School in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city.

Movement activists spoke to the students about the culture, history and national heroes of Russia, and the students gathered from several classes were introduced to the greatest Russian poets, musicians, and scientists.

The activists were able to briefly explain to Libyan students about Russian writers such as Pushkin and Lermontov and listened to some of Tchaikovsky’s writings.

It turns out that the fifth-grade students cannot be surprised by talking about the first cosmonaut, as most of them already know the Russian cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin.

After the lesson, Russian activists gave some souvenirs to the students, which left a good impression on them.

The students considered that one lesson was not enough to ask all their questions about Russia, so they made a proposal expressing their desire for the lessons to continue in the future.
