The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Ismaili Club granted the honorary presidency to Major General Khaled Khalifa Haftar, on the sidelines of the Ismaili and Al-Ahly friendly match held in Benghazi, at the Benina Martyrs Stadium, as part of the club’s celebrations of its historic centenary.

The Ismaili match against Ahli Benghazi witnessed the honoring of the former international player Wanis Khair, the star of the team in the eighties and nineties of the last century, by holding a retirement match for him.

Ismaily was founded in 1924 in the city of Ismailia and was able to reach the African Champions League 10 times, including in 1969 when he won the championship title and became the first Egyptian team in history to win it.
