Egyptian artist Tamer Diaei died after getting into an altercation with an administrative security officer inside a hospital, where he was with his wife, who was receiving chemotherapy.
According to the sources, the dispute began when the artist and his wife entered the hospital to receive treatment, and it developed into an argument that ended with him being beaten and falling unconscious, which led to his death.
The “Cairo 24” website published a video documenting the moment of the quarrel, where the artist Diaei appears quarreling with the hospital security employee, which prompted the latter to assault him, and the artist then fell unconscious.
Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Actors Syndicate, confirmed that the union is closely following the details of the investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution, and stressed that the union’s position will be announced based on the results of the official investigations.
It is noteworthy that the late artist suffered several health crises recently, including a heart attack three months ago, but he recovered and returned to his normal life before the unfortunate incident.
The competent authorities are currently conducting investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and take the necessary legal measures, and it is expected that the results of the investigations will be announced in the coming hours.
