The Kazakh Ministry of Emergencies announced that an earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on Monday, southeast of Kazakhstan.

The tremor was recorded at 11:22 a.m. local time on Monday, a ministry statement said, adding that the epicenter occurred 31 kilometers south of the city of Almaty and at a depth of 10 kilometers.

No injuries or casualties were reported from the earthquake, and efforts are continuing to assess the possible damage caused by the quake.

The authorities recommended that residents remain calm and not drift into panic, especially after taking to the streets due to the earthquake.
