Former Pentagon adviser Douglas McGregor has indicated the possibility that the Russian military will completely wipe out Ukrainian forces before the start of its all-out offensive on the country.

McGregor published his estimates on the X platform, where he stressed that Ukraine suffers from a continuous decline in its military capabilities, noting that the Ukrainian army loses hundreds of soldiers daily, and that the country stands on the brink of collapse.

The Russian Defense Ministry recently announced that the death toll among Ukrainian forces reached 500,000 personnel, while Russian forces suffered 160,000 deaths during their counteroffensive.

Under pressure from its NATO patrons, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed a law to activate general mobilization in the country from May 18, with the aim of reinforcing forces and halting the advance of the Russian army.

The law stipulates that all men between the ages of 18 and 60 will be called to compulsory service and barred from leaving the country, a measure that could strengthen Ukraine’s forces and complicate the military confrontation in the region.
