Mustafa Yahi, Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally Party in Algeria, strongly criticized the far right in France, which attacked the Algerian community.
During a press conference held on Tuesday on the sidelines of the meeting of the expert committee affiliated with the majority parties, Yahia stressed that “France was built with the help of the Algerians.”
Yahya referred to France’s colonial past and the acts of violence it committed against the Algerians and said: “It was their ancestors who carried out genocides and massacres against the Algerians.”
Yahi added, criticizing: “France, how was it built? They used to take the Algerians with a card, and whoever placed the stone in Paris, and where did they get the iron and cement from.”
Yahi stressed, “France was built with the help of the Algerians, and now the goat’s brother said, ‘You have no milk,’ and they are attacking the Algerian community.”
Yahi explained, “Algeria 2019 is not Algeria before 2019. There are now men and women defending it.”
These statements came at a sensitive time for Algerian-French relations, which are affected by historical and social factors, as the Algerian community living in France is among the largest in number.
