A video clip circulated on social media showing Egyptian artist Amr Diab slapping a fan during a wedding in Egypt.

Saad Osama, the young man who was slapped, said that he was devastated by the crisis that occurred during the party and that he could not sleep, eat or drink.

He added in his first statements that his psychological state was below zero and described what happened as “unnatural.”

He confirmed that he was present at the ceremony to take a photo with Amr Diab and denied the accusation of dragging the artists in order to take a photo with them, pointing out that the phone was raised in preparation for taking the photo.

Despite Amr Diab’s attempt to reach out for reconciliation, Saad confirmed that there would be no reconciliation with the artist and indicated that he had provided power of attorney to a lawyer in order to take over the case and that he wanted to restore his dignity. The investigating authorities decided to release the young man, but he stressed that he would not give up his right.

Amr Diab sparked great controversy after he appeared in video clips that showed him slapping a fan who persistently tried to take a selfie with him. Many considered what Al-Hadaba did to be wrong and inappropriate, while some believed that the fan was the one who intruded on the artist.
