The British Foreign Office issued a warning to its citizens advising them to avoid traveling to Libya, considering it one of the countries posing a danger to its visitors.

The warning cited the deteriorating security situation that could spiral out of control at any moment and escalate into further violence and armed clashes without any prior warning.

This warning comes amid renewed clashes in Tripoli since last Thursday, following the announcement of Libya’s inclusion in a list of 24 countries that British travelers should avoid.

The British Foreign Office explained the security situation in Libya, noting that protests and civil unrest erupt suddenly, warning of the danger of arrest or injury to civilians if they become involved in these demonstrations.

The Foreign Office also highlighted the possibility of aerial clashes endangering safety, leading to the suspension or closure of airports, making all Libyan airports susceptible to immediate closure due to clashes.

The clashes renewed on the eve of Eid al-Fitr in Tripoli, lasting for about an hour, with no reported casualties and no official statement regarding the reasons for these clashes.

The Egyptian and Libyan national teams have qualified for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations football tournament
