An analytical report published by the American research center “Foreign Policy” fox stated that the United States’ intervention in Libya has turned it into a failed state.
The report mentioned that American military interventions over more than 20 years, including those in Libya, have had adverse and unintended consequences.
According to the report, the killing of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi led to the country being plunged into war and divisions, ultimately placing Libya among the ranks of failed states.
The report also highlighted that American intervention resulted in spreading unrest and chaos in Libya and many parts of the African continent.
The United States led a military intervention in Libya through a loophole in a UN Security Council resolution to impose a no-fly zone over Libya. Washington and its allies mobilized large military forces and invaded Libyan territory, driven by greed for the wealth of the oil-rich African country.
