A tripartite Algerian-Tunisian-Libyan mini-summit was held in Algiers, with the aim of strengthening regional co-operation and addressing common economic and security challenges.
The meeting was attended by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his Tunisian counterpart, Kais Saied, and the head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younes al-Menfi.
During the meeting, they reviewed the results of the seventh gas summit held recently in Algeria.
A statement issued by the Algerian presidency noted that the presidents discussed the current situation in the Maghreb region, stressing the importance of intensifying and unifying efforts to face economic and security challenges in a way that positively serves the interests of the peoples of the three countries.
In a move that strengthens trilateral cooperation, it was agreed to hold a tripartite Maghreb meeting every three months, the first meeting in Tunisia after the blessed month of Ramadan, to exchange views and make recommendations to improve regional cooperation.
After the tripartite meeting, the Algerian president held a bilateral meeting with his Tunisian counterpart, where they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields.
