Algerian athlete Oussama Khennoussi, who specializes in discus throw, announced his final retirement from the sport at the age of 25.

This decision came after a difficult experience that Khennoussi went through following his early elimination from the Paris 2024 Olympics, after scoring three wrong attempts, and was subjected to a scathing and continuous attack on social media, including insults to his family members.

In a message published on his personal account, he referred to the extent of the pain and psychological pressure he was subjected to and expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the overstepping of boundaries in the criticism directed at him and stressed that the decision to retire came as a reaction to the moral and psychological pressures he faced.

Oussama Khennoussi specializes in discus throw and broke his national record in discus throw with a throw of 63.43 meters during the International Athletics Gathering held in the Hungarian capital.
