The Algerian Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, Mokhtar Didouche, revealed that 3.3 million tourists visited Algeria in 2023.
The same minister explained in his speech, on the occasion of National Tourism Day, that last year witnessed a large influx of tourists, including 2.2 million foreign tourists.
The Minister explained in a speech, during the National Tourism Day under the slogan “Purposeful Media… for Pioneering Tourism,” read on his behalf by the Director of the Tourism Minister’s Office, that the dynamism that the tourism sector knows, especially what is related to encouraging investment, improving services, and digitization, is bearing fruit and contributing to Active movement in all states, especially in the desert and coastal seasons.”
He added that there are 800 tourism investment projects that are being completed, and he said, “The year 2023 witnessed a distinctive influx of foreign tourists of various nationalities, as Algeria recorded the entry of about 3.3 million tourists, including 2.2 million foreign tourists.”
It should be noted that the Algerian authorities are working to encourage tourism in Algeria, as they seek to attract 10 million tourists by 2030.
The Minister of Tourism had previously stated that the government had taken serious steps to improve tourism in Algeria, noting that these steps include issuing visas to the Algerian desert, providing facilities for expatriates, and making land available to investors in the tourism sector.
