The delegation conducted an audit of the security and operational procedures in place at the airport, with the aim of ensuring their compliance with international standards and resuming flights between the two countries.
The Algerian delegation held talks with the Director General of the Libyan Airport and the Directors of the Operations and Safety Department, the Airport Security Office, and the Standards Compliance Department at the Airports Authority.
The talks discussed the readiness of security and safety systems, including security equipment and inspection procedures, and reviewed operational procedures to ensure the effectiveness and smooth operation of Mitiga Airport.
The Airports Authority of the Ministry of Transport in Libya stated that the talks addressed the improvements that were recently introduced at the Libyan International Airport, and its commitment to the recommended international standards in the field of civil aviation.
For his part, the head of the Algerian delegation confirmed that the visit aimed to evaluate the preparations and equipment at Mitiga Airport, expressing the readiness of Algerian civil aviation to support joint efforts to enhance security and safety at all airports. This international activity is part of a strategic plan aimed at reopening air routes between Libya and Algeria and enhancing economic exchange between the two countries.
