Algeria’s representative to the UN Security Council, Ammar Ben Jama, said, “Whoever believes that he can uproot the Palestinians from their land by force is mistaken.”

Ben Jammeh stressed during the monthly session of the Security Council on “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue” on Tuesday, that “the Zionist occupation will fail to implement its plans, and the Palestinians will not leave their homeland, and will continue the struggle until they fully enjoy their rights, including the right to self-determination.” Destiny and the establishment of their state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.”

Ben Jama called before the Security Council “to impose sanctions on Israel for its non-compliance with the Council’s resolutions,” calling for “an end to the aggression against Gaza and the violence of Zionist settlers in the West Bank.”

He pointed out that “there is no need to repeat the statistics, as the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, which is already catastrophic, has deteriorated further, as people are dying of hunger, and this is a reality and the cause of this is known.”

Ben Jamea conveyed a report from the head of the investigation committee concerned with the Palestinian territories, Navi Pillay, about war crimes committed by Israel, including the use of starvation as a method of warfare and the displacement of Palestinians by force.

Bin Jama warned that “the settlers’ provocation of the Palestinians in Al-Quds Al-Sharif and in Al-Aqsa Mosque will undoubtedly lead to an increase in tensions and threaten further escalation.”

Ben Jamea affirmed his “condemnation of these provocative and repeated attacks on the holy sites, and that the entire area of Al-Aqsa Mosque is a special worship area for Muslims, and that the existing historical and legal status of the holy sites must be respected.”

He concluded by saying: “If these violations had occurred elsewhere, sanctions would have been imposed, and therefore we demand sanctions against the occupying power, due to its failure to comply with Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2334.”
