The Algerian Ministry of Defense announced on Monday that 168 tons of humanitarian aid were sent to Gaza through Egypt’s Al-Arish airport.
The ministry said the aid arrived in Egypt on two Algerian air force planes, which were later transported to Gaza through the Rafah land crossing.
The Algerian Red Crescent provided aid, including foodstuffs, medicines, medical supplies and tents, the ministry said in a statement.
This shipment is the third of the Algerian aid sent to Al-Arish airport, where a shipment weighing 162 tons arrived last Sunday, and was unloaded in cooperation between the Egyptian Red Crescent and its Palestinian counterpart.
Algeria announced the entry of the first humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, through the Egyptian crossing in November last year.
