The Algerian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Attaf, renewed his country’s commitment to African collective action to prevent and resolve conflicts with the aim of achieving economic development and promoting the principle of African solutions to African problems.

This came in a speech read on his behalf by Abdel Hamid Ahmed Khoja, Inspector General of the Ministry, during the opening of the international forum on the Algerian revolution in its African dimensions, where he highlighted Algeria’s loyalty to its African depth through its support for just causes on the continent and its defense at all levels to achieve a comprehensive renaissance, stressing that Algeria is devoting its efforts to making the African continent an effective pole at the global level.

Attaf pointed out that loyalty is a characteristic of the Algerian leadership and people, especially towards those who supported the Algerian revolution, stressing the great importance that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune attaches to the memory of the struggle of the Algerian people and his gratitude to the friends of the Algerian revolution from Africa and the world who believed in the justice of the Algerian cause.

The Minister stressed that the Algerian revolution was humanitarian with noble values ​​that defended the right to life, the rejection of racism, and the right of peoples to self-determination, pointing out the need to stand by the struggle of the Sahrawi people who demand to exercise their right to self-determination.

He added, “Africa will not turn the page on abhorrent colonialism until justice is achieved for the Sahrawi people.”

He stressed Algeria’s solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation, calling for the African continent’s support for the Palestinian people to regain their rights and establish their independent state with Holy Jerusalem as its capital.

Attaf stressed Algeria’s commitment to a unitary continental approach to confront security and economic challenges, adding that Algeria will remain committed to African collective action to achieve development and stability on the continent.
