Algeria ranked third among Africa’s largest oil producers in the first quarter of this year, the specialized energy platform announced.
Algeria recorded daily production of 0.910 million barrels, down from 1.015 million barrels per day in the first quarter of 2023.
The decline comes as Algeria has implemented a reduction in its production since last January, to 51,000 barrels per day until the end of next June, in addition to a previous reduction of 48,000 barrels that began in April 2023 and will continue until the end of 2024.
Nigeria topped the list of the most oil-producing countries with 1.423 million barrels per day, followed by Libya with daily production of 1.117 million barrels, and Congo, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea in the next places with lower production rates.
