Joint detachments of the Algerian People’s National Army thwarted attempts to bring huge quantities of drugs across the border with Morocco, estimated at 59.304 kg of cocaine, 1,500 kg of processed kif, in addition to 88,644 hallucinogenic tablets.

Joint detachments of the Algerian People’s National Army, in coordination with various Algerian security services, arrested 35 drug traffickers.

According to the Algerian Ministry of Defence, it arrested 286 people in Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Ain Guezzam and Djanet, seized 45 vehicles, 120 generators and 62 pressure hammers, in addition to quantities of explosives, explosive equipment and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting.

Another 45 people were arrested and two Kalashnikov machine guns, 22 hunting rifles, an automatic pistol, 27,112 liters of fuel, 91 tons of smuggled food and 6,760 units of various beverages were seized during separate operations in Algeria.
