The Algerian Foreign Ministry expressed, in a statement issued on Saturday evening, its deep concern over the recent clashes and military movements in Libya, especially in the southern and western regions of the country.
The statement stressed the need to maintain the cessation of conflicts, which is a vital gain that must be preserved, and called on all conflicting parties in Libya to exercise wisdom and restraint to avoid renewed clashes that would exacerbate the situation and harm efforts to achieve stability and national reconciliation.
The statement stressed the urgent need to end foreign interventions and work towards achieving a new period of security, stability and prosperity in Libya.
The statement comes amid escalating violence in Libya, and after the bloody clashes in Tadjourah that resulted in deaths and injuries.
A ceasefire agreement was reached to ensure the return of normal life in the region, with the participation of a neutral force that contributed to resolving the conflict and removing obstacles to traffic.
