Algeria has denied rumors that it is withdrawing from the Confederation of African Football, saying it is committed to remaining part of the Confederation of African Football .

There were no home-and-away matches between USM Alger and Morocco’s Nahda Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup, due to controversy sparked by the Moroccan team’s shirts, which Algeria considered “unreal”.

While CAF announced Nahda Berkane the winner and qualification for the final, rumors spread last Tuesday that Algeria had withdrawn from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), based on unconfirmed sources.

In a related context, the concerned authorities in Algeria denied these rumors, stressing that they do not intend to withdraw from the Confederation of African Football, and that the source of the rumor is a “fake” account on the social networking site “Facebook”.

Official sources confirmed that Algeria is committed to staying in the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and that the news circulating is just an unfounded rumor.
