Algerian state television announced on Thursday that three military personnel were killed in a helicopter crash during a training mission in the Algerian city of El Menea.
The Algerian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that during a scheduled night training sortie, a military combat helicopter (MI-171) belonging to the Algerian Air Force Command fell on the outskirts of Al-Manea Airport in the fourth military region, killing its crew consisting of three members, and an investigation was opened to find out the cause of the accident.
Colonel Amara Reza, Lieutenant Colonel Jalal Yassin, and Contractor Sergeant Belgarbi Mohammed were killed.
Following the incident, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune extended his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and to all members of the army.
