Murad said following talks with his Tunisian counterpart Khaled Nouri on Tuesday, who is on a working visit to Algeria: “I discussed with the Tunisian Interior Minister many common issues between the two countries’ interior ministries, especially at the level of the joint committees that were recently established, with the aim of facing various challenges such as illegal immigration and drug and psychotropic substance smuggling networks.”

Murad pointed out that during the meeting, the topics of “organized movement between Algeria and Tunisia, as well as continuing to develop the border areas of the two countries” were discussed.

Murad said: “We are working within the framework of this idea to develop the region within the framework of economic and social integration and good neighborliness, and to avoid everything that affects the security of citizens and their property, while confronting all negative phenomena.”

In turn, Tunisian Interior Minister Nouri stressed the importance of cooperation in facing common security challenges, noting that “there are many security issues and files that concern both countries, such as combating the phenomenon of illegal immigration.”
