The championships achieved by Zamalek during the last season whetted the appetite of commentators, as they found that the Egyptian team beats Barcelona in the number of championships during one season.
The 2002/2003 season witnessed an exceptional event for Zamalek after winning 7 championships, surpassing all other clubs, followed by FC Barcelona with 6 championships in one season in 2009.
Zamalek then succeeded in achieving the Egyptian Cup, the Egyptian and African Super Cup, the Premier League, and also won the African Champions League, the Egyptian-Saudi Super Cup, and the Arab Championship during the 2002-2003 season.
The Egyptian club won in 2003 at the expense of Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the continental championship.
In 2002, Zamalek won the Egyptian Cup after losing the league championship this season to Ismaily, and was able to be the Egyptian Super Champion, the first championship in the 2002-2003 season, after defeating the Arab Contractors in September 2002.
The same season saw Zamalek beat the Moroccan team Raja with a goal scored by Tamer Abdel Hamid, known as “Dunga” in December 2002, and one year later Zamalek won the Egyptian General League at the expense of Al-Ahly in May 2003.
