The head of the Sovereignty Council and commander of the Sudanese army, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, denied during an inspection tour of his forces that a coup had taken place in the army.
Burhan said in remarks made during his inspection of an infantry division in the city of Dibba in the northern state that the armed forces are advancing in all axes and are working hard for victory and defeat what he described as the enemy in the near future, in reference to the ongoing fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces.
Later, RSF commander Mohamed Hamdan Daglo (Hemedti) posted an audio recording on platform X saying the war would end quickly in the coming days, referring to the imminent control of his forces throughout Sudan.
