Air Canada cancelled its flight between Casablanca and Montreal due to a fight between a flight attendant and a Moroccan passenger.
Activists on social media circulated a video clip showing the flight attendant’s rude treatment of the passenger who asked for a blanket due to the cold air conditioning.
The flight attendant started screaming and threatened to call the pilot and get the passenger off the plane and refused the passengers’ repeated requests to speak to the pilot, which angered the passengers.
All passengers left the plane in solidarity with the affected passenger, which forced the company to cancel the flight.
Air Canada decided to refer the flight attendant for investigation, suspend her for a week, and compensate the passengers with $1,000 Canadian per passenger, and sent them letters of apology.
The company provided the plane with all travel supplies, including blankets, and it took off again after a delay of about 30 hours, heading to Montreal.
