Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Iraqi “Nabni” coalition, condemned what he described as “the heinous crime committed by the criminal US forces,” holding “the Iraqi government responsible for any negligence or inaction for the immediate removal of the so-called international coalition forces from Iraqi territory.”

For its part, the Azm coalition condemned the attack, calling it a “flagrant violation and violation of Iraqi sovereignty.” The coalition called for “stopping any external interference that threatens Iraq’s security and stability,” stressing that “international and humanitarian laws must be observed and respected.”

The Rights bloc in the Iraqi parliament also called for “the expulsion of the US ambassador and a statement of measures against US forces that violate Iraqi sovereignty.”

Sheikh Khalid al-Mulla, head of the Iraqi Scholars Group, condemned the targeting, calling on the Iraqi government to “implement the Iraqi parliament’s decision to remove US forces”.

Yahya Rasul Abdullah, spokesman for the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi armed forces, blamed the international coalition for the “unjustified attack” on the PMF headquarters.

This attack “undermines all understandings between the Iraqi armed forces and the international coalition forces”, he said, noting that the bombing is “a dangerous escalation and aggression against Iraq, and far from the spirit and letter of the mandate for which the international coalition was founded”.

Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said the Baghdad blast was “a criminal act that we strongly condemn and consider a flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty”.

The Iraqi Presidency condemned the aggression that targeted the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces east of the capital, Baghdad, and resulted in the death of two people, one of whom is the assistant commander of the Baghdad Belt Operations in the Hashd, Mushtaq Talib Al-Saidi, and the injury of 6.

The presidency stressed in a statement that this aggression “is a violation and violation of Iraq’s sovereignty and security, a clear violation of relations between Iraq and the international coalition, and a violation of the frameworks and justifications for which the coalition was found in providing assistance and advice to the Iraqi security forces.”

The statement added that “Iraq, while warning of the continued escalation in the region, which would undermine the chances of peace and stability in the region, calls for the primacy of the language of dialogue and understanding and finding ways to end tensions and crises between all parties.”

It is noteworthy that the agency “Reuters” quoted sources from the Iraqi police and security that “the raid on the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization was carried out by drone.”

This targeting comes at a time when the Islamic Resistance in Iraq is launching attacks on the bases of the US occupation in Syria and Iraq, stressing in its statements that the strikes come as a continuation of the approach of resisting the US occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the massacres of the Israeli entity against the people of Gaza.
